Wesley met his kindergarten teacher tonight!

Tonight I went with Karl and Wesley to meet the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Parker. She was very nice and was impressed that he knew immediately which cubby was his because he could read and spell his name and pick it out easily. She thought he was very bright too, because he was concerned that she had forgotten to put his last name on there with his first name! Then he told her she forgot his middle name too! She assured him that she would make a new label with his full name on it by the time he gets there Monday. (She had just printed their first names in large letters on their cubbies.) We felt like a minority race in there because Mrs. Parker and us were the only light colored people there. The rest were hispanic and east indian. Culture shock! She assured us that there are a few other white, English speaking children who will be in her class but were not there tonight, so Wesley will feel more like he belongs and we will too! Whew!
